I have to wonder sometimes.
I have read that a home should have just below 50% humidity level.
I live in the desert so Humidity can be a good thing. It prevents nose bleeds.
Now if you have ever ran an air conditioning unit then you know that it pulls all the water out of the air in the house.
Now at one house the drain line is used to fill the dogs wading pool.
So I'm wondering. Can I direct that water back into the house?
Maybe an indoor fountain? Or maybe I should direct it directly to the swimming pool.
Now my house also has a swamp cooler. That would put a lot of moisture back into the air. But can only be used for a couple of hours in the morning.
Would it perhaps be more efficient to just remove the swamp cooler? (It's old and ragged looking) And I don't like all that ductwork in the attic.
One last thought on thermostats. The new house has a programmable therostat. But you have to set it to either heat or AC. Now why hasnt one been invented that you can set the temp and it decides on it's own what to turn off and on. I mean really, it will be in the 50's tonight and early tommorrow morning. So I have the windows open during the night. ( Bad guys stay away. I have 3 dogs and a gun). Then during the day I have to close up all the windows. Right now it's almost 11PM and 74 in the living room and 66 outside. Time to open up the windows again. But then it's cold in the morning and the first one up has to turn on heater.
