Poor Lonely Dogs

Well, I'm planning on taking Charlie into town with us. I hope I can find a place for him to lie down in the shade.

The rest of the dogs will continue to remain at home. Hopefully with Charlie not being around I will not have to lock them in the kennel.

Today I will padlock the gate when we leave. Gotta stuff the dogs before we leave since we will not be back until tomorrow night.

Really serious fun trying to maintain 2 house's.

What I learned this Week

1. Kathy's feeling are hurt if I get mad. Kat I'm not mad at you.
2. Nevada has weird laws.
If you have a letter stating what you wish to have done with your remains that is signed and dated. It's not good enough.

The Letter for disposal of remains must be signed, witnessed, AND notorized.

If not then all BLOOD relatives must agree and sign a statement provided by the funeral home. We ended up having to fax forms to younger bro in CA. Happily he was not argumentive.

So besides moving furniture around in the house to help Kat out. I need to take care of legal paperwork for Ilona and myself.

I'm easy, I have no full blood relatives.
Ilona has Mom and daughter.

Sandy according to Kathy

According to Kathy Sandy is not house trained and she does not come when called. All I can say is 1. She is house trained at my house. 2. She comes to whistle. Maybe I should give Kathy a whistle.

Dad died so we have gathered at Dads house. My dogs are now alone night and day. I drive home in the morning and give them a double helping of chow. They won't see me again until tomorrow.

At least Tuesday Morning I can drive Ilona home and she can be in her own house until I get the stuff in town taken care of.

Crap and Shit

Well, we got into the house. First thing I did was make a pot of coffee. Then waited all day to pick up my sister at the airport.

Big surprise, Mom and Dad changed the Trust. Made sister who lives in CO. and her daughter the executer's. And never had the fucking courtesy to tell the oldest. Cowards.

So you have to understand I'm slightly miffed. I see Dad 4 times a week and he never says a word. So now little sister is here "high and mighty" deciding what she and her daughter get and we can have the leaving's. I'll get over it.

I don't want the house sold. The market is too depressed.

My neice actually wants to live in the house. The only problem I have with that is she is a pig when it comes to housekeeping. That's going to be the fun part. Some day we will sell the house and it needs to be kept up. Yard work done, pool maintained, house and furnishing kept clean.

My neice is the type of person to leave dirty dishes, empty coke cans, coffee cups laying around and never pick them up. She never picks up after herself. And her bathroom looks like a dark back alley in some slum.

Methinks I'm coming across really pissed off. I guess I am. Like I said I'll get over it- Someday.

Someone placed a bet with me this morning that if the kid stays here - then withen 3 years her Mother will move back to Vegas. (Gambling problem) That would be a bad idea. I don't think she will, she does not like the heat.

Anway I had to drive home this morning to feed the dogs. I'll be back tomorrow.

My Hero

For the past month Dad and I have been talking about the new end tables and lamps he wants to buy. The Aloe Vera Plant and getting cutting's off it. Killing the black Algae in the pool.

2 weeks ago I gave him a stoneware Pizza thing for the oven.
Last week we were talking about putting a CD player in his car. And his head cold. A summer head cold what a bitch.

I found out Dad had a girlfriend when he was stationed in England. He still has her letters in a box in the garage.

I found out that when he was stationed in Japan the troops had to be really carefull when approaching their aircraft because the guards might shoot them. They actually approached with hands up.

Dad loved working in the yard. He always wanted to be an electronic tech. Instead of a sheetmetal man.

He worked on DSRV1 and 2 and he worked on DeepQuest and then worked on some stuff for NASA.

Today I was expecting another Friday afternoon with Dad. Some lunch, some conversation maybe dinner. Just something to give Dad to do.

So I went through my usual Friday morning routine. Drop off Ilona at work. Go do a little scrounging. Go to the library. Then head to Dads house.

I pulled in and noticed orange tape around the gate. Cannot enter. I noticed a funny looking lock covering the door knob. I looked at the garage door same tape and again around the front. Called the phone number on the tape. I was informed Dad had died and been found by a passerby near the pool.

I called the cororner and they would not give me any info. I was told they had tried to call my brother and reached his son. Because my nephew told the people who called that Dad is my step-dad they won't let me in the house. Only blood relatives.

So in the morning my brother flies in from San Jose.

Had to Call the neighbor

Yesterday Well once again... Let the dogs out of the house and kennel and they ran to the back corner. Made a semi-circle and started barking. I whistled and they all came back. I put them in the kennel then walked out to the fence with camera in hand.

One of Todds dogs was sitting in the corner and it looked like he had some injury to his neck. I took pictures then went back to the house and called Todd 0645

"Todd one of your dogs is in my yard. He has an injury, my dogs did not touch him - I'm not going to touch him."
I got the answering machine and left the above message.

I went and got dog food and started feeding my dogs when Todd yelled across the yard "Where is he" I pointed. Todd walked down the line. Found the dog. Jumped the fence tossed the dog over then he went back over.

Today while heading into town we saw 1 dog on leash at Todds place.

Kristen in Town and other News

1. My neice is in town for the weekend. Drove in from CO. with a group of other young women. Rumor has it they were going "clubbing" last night. I'll have to find out how that worked out. (my niece does not drink)

2. Now if I buy a basic program from someone and it does not work as advertised and I send a letter to support asking for help, should I get an ad to buy a more advanced version of the program in reply?

And why, if the basic version does not work as advertised would you expect me to purchase another version? I shall give the program and support group one more week before I mention the name of the software.

3. Ilona want's to drive herself to work and let me stay at home. Remember people this is the lady that blacked out at the wheel and totaled her truck in April. We only have the 1 working vehicle at the moment. What to do?

4. I need to get back to town and program dad's universal remote. He is currently using 3 different remotes. He has a problem getting the TV to show his DVD's. Then if he gets a picture he looses the sound on the surround sound system. Or he might get the sound and then no picture. Hopefully once I get the remote programmed the problems will be solved.

So One more update on Twitter and I'm off.

Update for the rest of the house

Well the new wall unit is in and on a timer. The bedroom unit is also on a timer. So both rooms are reasonably cool when we get home in the evening.

Last month electric bill was $146.00 (June)

I have not yet disconnected the whole house unit.

We have blocked all the air vents in the house. Took out the grate and installed plywood sealed around the edges. Also laid new carpet.

Been busy pulling up weeds and watering fruit trees and figuring out what trees to cut down in the fall.

I just need now to figure out how the mice are getting into the house. Think I shall tear out the shelf under the sink and see what's going on down their.

That's it for today.

Pool Woes

Well, being out of work has both good points and bad points.
Good - I've collected lots of used carpet to put in the yard.
BAD - Pool chemicals have gone WAY up in price.
Good - The storeroom is now full of paper for making papercrete
BAD - Sammi the suzuki died. I cannot afford to rebuild the motor. AND I do not want to use my one and only vehicle for towing loads of papercrete.

The pool was a very SANDY Algae filled mess. So I put in Algae killer. Sweep everything to one corner. Moved the filter out of the way and pulled the plug. The just kept sweeping the sand out the hole. Now I'm talking Sand a FOOT deep. Took about an hour. Lost two inches of water.

MATH TEST. Pool is 21x41 feet. 4 feet deep. How many gallons is 2 inches of depth?

I don't know I flunked math.

I reloaded the algeside and santizer and now have the filter running. Scrubbed every inch of the sides.. I'll get some kitchen scrubbie and tie them to my feet to scrub the bottom. So far it's looking pretty good.

Dogs Chasing Cattle

Well, I guess that is what Aussie Cattle dogs are supposed to do. But are they supposed to be hearding the cattle back and forth while said cattle are in the pens?

Great video I've got of the cattle being run back and forth in the pen. They finally bunched up and turned horns to the dogs. I hope they gore a dog or two. Maybe then my neighbor will build a proper kennel for his dogs.

And of course the neighbors are not at home. They are off to another horse show I guess. Wonder where they are this weekend.

Notice of Recusal - The Lawer assigned to be the Arbitrator to the Law Suite has had a baby. I got a Notice of Recusal yesterday. Guess I need to look that up and see what it means. Hopefully more delay.

Hyplet

Yeast ? ? ?

What you think I'm joking? I must admit I was floored when the vet told me Duke had a yeast infection.

Ok, I'll start at the beginning. Duke has been shaking his head and rubbing it against the walls for months. So I started cleaning his ears out, every bloody day. He actually cut his ear when shaking his head. He rapped a table edge. So now when he shakes his head he flings blood droplets all over the place.

SO I look it up online. Looks like mites to me. My mate says mites. Tried all the remedies we found online. Hmmmm not working. Brought some stuff that "never fails". It did not work.

Ok. Now I have three different vets that I use. 2 lady Vets and 1 male. Time to stop at the Vets office for an office visit. The 2 lady Vets would not even give me an office visit. All they have to say is bring in the dog. Just to do that is $100 and $80 screw that. Time to go visit the male Vet.

Now he actually talks to me. I describe the symptoms (dirty brown stuff in ears) he is almost laughing as he says "not mites" Bring Duke in $40.00.

Make the appointment take in Duke. Doc swabbs his ears looks at the swab and says "yeast infection" Dogs don't get mites in this area. Pick up Duke at 4PM.

I leave Duke at the Vets office, Duke is not happy about that, I think he remembers what happened to him on his last visit. Anyway I head for the coffee shop and a free wifi connection.

Time to look up "yeast + dog" all kinds of stuff pops up. One of them I tried earlier. Just not for long enough and the wrong kind of vinegar.

So at 4 I go get Duke. Total bill $80.00 and that includes the medications and instructions on how to use them. If you need more just stop buy and get some. The Vet knows I own 4 dogs.

Two days later.. Been cleaning and applying meds as prescriped. Duke seems a whole lot happier. The only time he is shaking his head now is when I put in the drying agent.

Now it's time to correct his diet. I've been feeding them 1 cup of rice or oatmeal everyday. Vet said stop feeding them GRAIN... Well you have to admit. They started life of a natural diet of raw beef and pork ribs. Now they eat purina mixed with grains. Dogs are not made for that much grain.

So here are a couple of good sites.
