1 Pup left

I was awakened from a nice pleasant sleep on Tuesday evening as my mate came in. Told me she had to take a pup back to Jean for one of her co-workers. So that leaves one pup left to find a home for. The sooner the better. According to the vet I cannot take "blondie" in to get fixed until the last pup is gone. I need to get her fixed. If she has another accident I will dump her at the dog shelter and let them deal with it.

I finally found out how she escapes the yard. Short of making my fence taller I guess she is free to do as she likes. She simply jumps it. No problem no hassle. At least the other dogs do not jump.

I keep forgetting to say if you want one then leave a post. If you've got one of the other 6 post and let us know how they are doing.

Now I realize these are not the best pictures in the world. A digital camera is much slower than a film camera. Puppies move fast. You cannot see the little white goatee both of these pups have. One pup is black with a white chest blaze the other in the lower picture is a strange shade of brown.

Today the puppies are 8 weeks old. We have 2 pups left. People just don't believe that we are giving them away for FREE. Just remember it's up to you to get these little boys fixed and get the rabies shot in a couple more months. I think it's when they are 4 months old. So that would be sometime in December.

Feeding of Pups

These pups were raised on 1. Mom's milk, 2. Raw beef ribs 3. Puppy Gold nursing formula 4. Purina Puppy Chow. Mom eats all the same thing as the pups. We are trying to keep her weight up.

The pups in the box are 1 day old. Somehow we managed to loose 1. We started off with 9. Between moving from the carport to the house. Washing the birthing blankets and a visit by Misty, 1 pup was gone. The pup was not in the wash, I shook out the blankets before washing, Nothing smells rotten in the house or front porch so it's not their. I think Misty took it.

Oh, did I mention the Mother is "blondie" she is not even a year old yet. Guess's as to her breed are welcome.

My new Puppies

These puppies were born August 19, 2007 between the hours of 0000 and 0600. For those that do not understand military time.. They were born between midnight and dawn. And don't you know I was at work. They were born in the carport. Mainly because that is where I chained up mom before I left for work.. I knew she was going into labor and needed her to be near the other dogs and where Ilona could find her when she got home from work.

These pups are an accident. Never meant to be. I missed getting the bitch fixed by one week. Ended up having to cancel the appointment. If something like this ever happens again I will pay the extra charge to get the dog fixed. I am a firm believer in getting dogs fixed. I dispise my neighbor who REFUSES to fix his male dogs. Asshole. Anyway poppa dog is a very sweet gentle black lab that comes over to my house on a daily basis. (I have never fed him, I think he likes being petted) Not to mention he likes to play with my 4 adult dogs.

I'll have to get his picture to post here.. So Black lab dad and above is a picture of mom the bitch. the little hussie, the escape artist who went out the window (broke the screen) to see her buddy.

Almost 7 - weeks that is

The pups will be 7 weeks old on OCT 7. They start going to new homes on week 8.
Getting the puppy formula from K9power was a nightmare. 1st UPS has never delivered to my home. K9 could not seem to get that in their head. I put in a special message telling them to deliver to the post office. Took an extra week to get the formula the first time. Meanwhile mom lost half her body weight. She's up to 4x normal feed. Canned, dry and raw meat.

When next I ordered K9power sent me "show and glow" I called on Sept 29. The owner said he was very sorry and would send out Puppy Gold special D and I should have it on Friday. Well here it is Oct 5 over a week later and no Puppy Gold. Needless to say I cannot recommend purchasing anything from K9power.com

Never fear, the pups never missed a feeding. I had to buy from the vet and that is expensive. You can only buy a few ounces at a time. Anyway the pups are now eating raw meat/bones. Canned food and puppy chow mixed with formula that is being reduced daily. Mom will only nurse them for a couple of minutes before she shakes them off.

Oh, the extra boards on the steps? The pups cannot quite jump it yet. Normal steps they can get up.
